This tape is doesn’t rip or tear and is conductive in all directions (XYZ axis). The nickel coating can cause an allergic skin reaction in some people, so I don't recommend it for projects requiring extended skin contact.
- The gray textured ribbon is conductive. It is made of ripstop nylon with metal added to it. Just like the ripstop nylon in a parachute or a jacket, this tape won’t rip or break easily. You’ll need to cut it with scissors.
- The sticky side is also conductive. Metal particles are added to the adhesive to make it conductive. It is stickier than a post-it note but less sticky than regular clear tape.
- Each strip of Conducti Tape Z22 is 1/4″ x 8″ and there are 24 strips in a package.
Where does it conduct? | XYZ axis | Conducts electricity along the length of the tape and from top surface to bottom surface. |
How sticky? | 31 oz/in | This tape could hold up to 31 oz of weight before it would peel away and fall. |
How strong? | 40 lb/in | The tape can withstand 40 lbs of force without breaking. |
How conductive? | 20 | The conductivity of 1/4″ wide tape can be described as 20 on a scale where 1 = conductivity of 34-gauge copper wire and 280 = conductive thread |
Electrical resistance | .05 ohms/sq.2 ohms/linear in. | The electrical resistance is 0.05 ohms/square.That’s .2 ohms/linear inch for ¼” wide tape. |
